FairPlay – Erasmus Programme

Last Week Community Development Manager Lewis Melee and colleagues Dean Gibson and Neil Ross visited Charlton Athletic as part of the FairPlay programme which Hibernian Community Foundation is proud to be part of from 2019-2022.

The weeklong workshop delivered in partnership with Erasmus University, saw Foundation staff link to partners from Feyenoord, Werder Bremen, Inter Milan and Charlton to discuss the first goals of the programme and share experiences of community activity. FairPlay, aims to bring life skill training into football and foundation activity. Sessions around goal setting, optimism and mastery took place at the Valley, led by Erasmus University Researcher Brian Godor with demonstrations and group activities delivered throughout. Staff on their return to clubs are now tasked with introducing the activities within new and existing programmes ahead of our next workshop in early 2020.

Hibernian Community Staff presented shirts displaying the Foundation logo to our partners throughout the week to celebrate the working partnership.
