Hibernian Women Hibernian Women - The Professional Game With the success of the Scottish Women's National Team in qualifying for back-to-back Euros in 2017, and the World Cup in 2019 and the rise in professionalism within women's football the decision was taken by Hibernian Football Club and Hibernian Community Foundation to put the team onto a professional footing. As a result, in early 2020 a new company was formed, Hibernian Women's Football Club Ltd, charged with taking the Club into an exciting new era and to maintain the success of previous seasons. The new board quickly set about its new task and Dean Gibson, the successful coach of the Hibernian Girls Academy Under 21 team, as team manager assisted by Roddy Maughan, Chris Flockhart as goalkeeping coach and Neil Ross as sports scientist. Hibs legend Joelle Murray was fittingly the first player to sign professional forms with the new Club followed by several of the current team including Amy Gallacher, Shannon McGregor and Scottish Internationalists Leah Eddie, Siobhan Hunter, Rachael Boyle and Amy Muir. In addition to Scottish players the club also recruited American players, Gabby English, Alexa Coyle and Toni Malone in season 2021-22.
